Our mission is to cultivate a food sovereign City where the majority of fruits and vegetables Detroiters consume is grown by Detroiters for Detroiters. Our program supports farms and gardens across the City with resources, education and connection to other growers. Access to water for gardening is a roadblock for many growers here in Detroit so we put this design together to be an option for those people to be able to harvest rainwater.
The Urban Garden Raincatcher & Irrigation Station is a resource for gardeners who are looking to collect rainwater for their gardens but don't have access to a roof in proximity to their gardens. This design uses a small footprint to avoid needing a building permit.
