Fred Dueck invented this wheelchair ramp for his wife with ALS and shared instructions on Youtube.
With this simple device you can add a ramp to almost any home’s or automobile’s doorway allowing a wheelchair to have access. You can buy the materials at most local hardware stores.
The main supports are 2- 8 foot length 2x4’s cut in half then reattached with a strap hinge(used on fence gates) and short lag
screws.
½ inch plywood is used as the ramp surface and connected together with standard ratchet straps screwed to the surface.
These components can be easily folded up for storage. Anti-slip contact paper, or rubber matting can be used on the ramp surface for extra grip when traveling through doorways.
